All -

We want to share the below sad DYS news with our Freedom football family. For those wishing to attend the services together, please email fsrfootball@gmail.com.

Evening DYS Football Family,

It is with tremendous sadness to inform you of the sudden passing of one of our Football athletes Brody Watson 54, on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

This past season Brody played with the 100A team. As a first-year player, Brody was quick to catch the eye of his coaches and his fellow teammates. His great character, work ethic, and drive was displayed every time Brody stepped onto the football field.

Brody would ask to play many positions. He eventually started as an Offensive Tackle, but he shortly transitioned into a dominant Defensive Tackle and End. That’s where Brody had the most fun, on the Defensive side of the ball.

Brody Watson will be dearly missed by the entire DYS Football Family, his coaches, and most of all his 100A teammates. Brody was a tremendous part of the 100A team. His brightness, positivity, dedication, and smile will never be forgotten.

We understand that his sudden passing may be difficult to handle or process. We ask that you keep Brody Watson’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

A Memorial Service will begin at 3pm Sunday March 6, 2022, at the Gateway Community Church, 42350 Tall Cedars Parkway Chantilly, VA 20152.

To Honor Brody, the family requested that friends wear Tar Hill Blue or Team Jersey from one of the teams played on with Brody.
